Mike Pease was born and raised in San Francisco, earned his architecture degree from UC Berkeley, and after practicing and teaching in various locations, settled in Eugene, Oregon, to teach design and drawing at the University of Oregon. His art has been shown in galleries and venues throughout the United States. The central focus of his professional life has been understanding, designing, and describing good places.
